Accountability & data sourcing

Authoria keeps a record of what public sources say about each local business. Every claim links to the source it came from.

Who writes this

Profiles are written and maintained by Authoria. A business can submit a correction, and we publish it as their own statement alongside the record.

When sources disagree

When sources disagree, the record shows each side. When they are silent, it says so.

How sources are weighted

Every claim links to a public source. Sources are identified by source class:

1 Independent editorialReported or reviewed coverage written outside the business Editorial
2 Press release / wireDistributed announcements or wire copy attributed as that source type Wire
3 Google PlacesContact details — address, phone, hours Identity
4 Business websiteThe business's own account Self-reported
5 Self-published socialPosts or profiles the business publishes on social platforms Self-published
6 Aggregators & directoriesCross-referenced for coverage Directory
